Appointments

Book an Appointment

Tell us who needs to be seen, which speciality and when suits you. The appointment desk reviews every request and calls you back to confirm a slot with the consultant — usually within the same working day.

Appointment request

Request a consultation with Dr. A. Sanjana Reddy

Consultant Anaesthesiologist & Critical Care, Anaesthesiology. The form is pre-filled for this consultant — change the department or doctor if you would prefer somebody else.

By submitting this form you agree that SIMS may contact you about this request. We do not sell or share your details with third parties for marketing. Read our privacy policy.

What happens next

How appointment requests work

Four steps, none of them a surprise. Nothing on this page charges you anything — payment happens only at the hospital counter.

  1. You submit the form

Your request reaches the appointment desk with the department, the consultant you prefer and the date and time band that suits you. Nothing is confirmed at this stage.

  2. We call you back to confirm the slot

The desk checks the consultant’s sitting for that day and calls the number you gave, usually within the same working day. If the consultant is unavailable, you are offered the nearest alternative date or another specialist in the same department.

  3. You register at the counter on the day

Arrive a little before your slot, register at the outpatient counter with a photo ID and pay the consultation charge there. First-time patients are issued a hospital ID (UHID) that is used for every future visit, report and admission.

  4. Consultation, investigations and reports

The consultant examines you and orders only the tests that will change the plan. Laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound and CT are in the same building, and most routine reports are issued the same day so the doctor can review them before you leave.

Bring somebody with you if you can

A second person hears what the doctor says, remembers the instructions and can help if a test or a procedure is advised the same day. This matters most for elderly patients and for anyone attending alone for a new, serious diagnosis.

Do not stop your regular medicines to prepare for a visit

Blood pressure, heart, thyroid, epilepsy and psychiatric medicines should be taken as usual unless a doctor has told you otherwise. If a fasting blood test has been advised, skip food only — not your tablets — and mention the fasting requirement when you book.

Booking for a parent or a child?

Enter the patient’s name and age on the form, and your own mobile number for the callback. For a child, the paediatrics team will ask about weight, feeding and immunisation, so keep the immunisation card handy.

FAQ

Questions about booking

If your question is about a symptom rather than a booking, the health library may help — and anything sudden or severe belongs in the emergency department, not in a form.

Can I reschedule or cancel an appointment after booking?

Yes. When the appointment desk calls you back to confirm the slot, note down the reference they give you. If your plans change, reply to that call or submit a fresh request mentioning the original date — the desk will move you to another slot in the same department. There is no charge for changing or cancelling a requested appointment.

Do I need an appointment, or can I simply walk in?

Walk-in registration is available at the outpatient counter during OPD hours and nobody is turned away for not having booked. Booking in advance simply reduces waiting, because the desk can tell you which consultant is sitting on that day and roughly when they will see you. Emergency patients are never asked to book — come straight to the emergency department at any hour.

How much will the consultation cost?

Consultation charges differ between general specialities and super-specialities, and a review visit within a defined period is usually charged differently from a first consultation. Please confirm the exact amount at the registration counter before you pay, and ask for a receipt. If investigations are advised, ask the counter for the cost of those as well before going ahead.

Should I bring my previous reports and prescriptions?

Please do, even if they are old or from another hospital. Previous blood tests, scan reports, discharge summaries and the strips of the medicines you take now let the consultant see how the condition has changed over time. It also prevents tests being repeated unnecessarily, which saves you both money and another visit.

Do I need a referral letter from another doctor?

No referral is needed to see a consultant at SIMS — you may book directly with any department. That said, if a doctor elsewhere has already investigated you, carrying their notes helps. If you are unsure which speciality fits your symptoms, choose “Not sure — please guide me” on the form and the appointment desk will route you to the right department.
